I\u2019m also suspicious enough to wonder how they got the autopsy report so quickly.  It\u2019s as if they anticipated the furor.  But it\u2019s funny that often it seems to take weeks before we get autopsy reports.  This time we got it within hours.<\/p>\n<p>But the larger point is the death penalty.  One reason I\u2019m opposed to the death penalty is that if it were me, I\u2019d much rather be killed than spend a lifetime in prison.  So I think a life sentence, or one approximating it as Lay\u2019s may have been, is the greater punishment.  Maybe those of you who read more blogs than me can find the inconsistency of those who think Lay \u201cgot off easy\u201d but support the death penalty.<\/p>\n<p>In any case, The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2006\/07\/05\/AR2006070500523.html \">Post story<\/a> this morning suggests that Lay\u2019s heirs won\u2019t pay a price, and that is a real travesty.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I wonder how many people who think Ken Lay cheated us by dying are also death penalty proponents?
