{"id":436,"date":"2006-10-02T14:32:48","date_gmt":"2006-10-02T18:32:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/000af36.netsolhost.com\/wordpress1\/2006\/10\/02\/no_questions\/"},"modified":"2006-10-02T14:32:48","modified_gmt":"2006-10-02T18:32:48","slug":"no_questions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/griendling.com\/wordpress1\/2006\/10\/02\/no_questions\/","title":{"rendered":"No Questions!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>House Speaker Dennis Hastert and Congressman John Shimkus, R-Collinsville, said in a press conference at 2:00 that they were not aware of Congressman Foley\u2019s explicit Instant Messages until this news report surfaced last week.<\/p>\n<p>Except it wasn\u2019t really a press conference because they took no questions.  Didn\u2019t look good.<\/p>\n<p>There are still a lot of holes in this story.  ABC News <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abcnews.go.com\/WNT\/story?id=2514770&#038;page=1 \">reported yesterday<\/a> that \u201cFoley\u2019s obsession has been known to Republicans for 5 years\u201d and quoted an ex-page who said that \u201cwarnings were issued\u2026Pages were told to watch out for Foley.\u201d  By using the <del>past<\/del> passive tense, the reporter suggests he doesn\u2019t know the full details.  Who knew it for five years?  Who issued the warnings?  <\/p>\n<p>Those were probably some of the questions reporters didn\u2019t get to ask this afternoon as Hastert and Shimkus walked out on reporters.<\/p>\n<p>Update:  With Gonzales heading this investigation don\u2019t expect anything before the elections.
