{"id":372,"date":"2009-02-28T15:35:24","date_gmt":"2009-02-28T20:35:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/000af36.netsolhost.com\/wordpress1\/2009\/02\/28\/financing-the-financiers\/"},"modified":"2009-02-28T15:35:24","modified_gmt":"2009-02-28T20:35:24","slug":"financing-the-financiers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/griendling.com\/wordpress1\/2009\/02\/28\/financing-the-financiers\/","title":{"rendered":"Financing the Financiers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I hesitated to post this, not wanting to appear even more ignorant than many think I am.&#160; But I scanned the comments section of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2009\/02\/27\/AR2009022702845.html?hpid=topnews\">this story<\/a> and found that at least I\u2019m not alone in not getting this.&#160; So if I\u2019m stupid, there is at least one poor soul who is as dumb as I am.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Top brokers at Morgan Stanley and <a href=\"http:\/\/financial.washingtonpost.com\/custom\/wpost\/html-qcn.asp?dispnav=business&amp;mwpage=qcn&amp;symb=C&amp;nav=el\">Citigroup<\/a>&#8216;s Smith Barney, which are to join forces in a joint venture later this year, learned last week that they will receive packages worth 105 percent of their annual revenue. That means a broker who brought in $2 million last year would get $2.1 million.
