{"id":1659,"date":"2010-06-16T13:56:00","date_gmt":"2010-06-16T17:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/000af36.netsolhost.com\/wordpress1\/2010\/06\/16\/you-know\/"},"modified":"2010-06-16T13:56:00","modified_gmt":"2010-06-16T17:56:00","slug":"you-know","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/griendling.com\/wordpress1\/2010\/06\/16\/you-know\/","title":{"rendered":"&ldquo;You Know&rdquo;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Few of us speak in beautifully crafted paragraphs with nary an \u201cuh,\u201d \u201cum,\u201d \u201cyou know\u201d or the ubiquitous \u201clike.\u201d&#160; Few journalists include such utterances when quoting folks\u2014unless they are trying to convey something more than the subject of the sentence quoted.&#160; I recently saw <a href=\"http:\/\/www.harpersbazaar.com\/magazine\/feature-articles\/bristol-palin-interview-0610\" target=\"_blank\">a quote by Sarah Palin\u2019s daughter<\/a> in which she said the word \u201clike\u201d four times inside of about 25 words.&#160; <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&quot;I remember sitting on the couch with one of my best friends and Levi, and I just couldn&#8217;t spit it out. I was like, &#8216;Mom, Mom.&#8217; I was bawling my eyes out. She was like, &#8216;What&#8217;s wrong?&#8217; And I was like, &#8216;I&#8217;m pregnant.&#8217; And she was like&quot; \u2014 Bristol stops and mimics a gasp \u2014 &quot;Oh my God. Holy crap.
