Sorry for the late post of yesterday’s news, let alone today’s. My ‘net was down most of yesterday and today I traveled to Colorado. Pray for snow; the flowers are blooming<\/em><\/p>\n

Ben Cline (R-Amherst), the first termer about challenging Republican Sen. Emmett Hanger (Rockingham). But Cline, who has been rocked by the support for higher taxes he\u2019s seen at town meetings in his area, said he\u2019s not talked to the club. Let\u2019s see, a falsehood about the Senate\u2019s plan and then about who said what. I guess the Club for Growth learned how to lie from the Bush administration, and they are about as good at it as the Bushies are. <\/p>\n

It appears Del. Tim Hugo (R-Fairfax) who likes to position himself as a moderate, is turning out to be another right-wing nut case. See today\u2019s Washington Post story<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jeff Schapiro of the Richmond Times-Dispatch says Gov. Warner might be subject to lawsuits<\/a> if there\u2019s a budget shutdown. Jerry Kilgore is already preparing one.<\/p>\n

Norfolk State University is raising tuition<\/a> 16 percent. <\/p>\n

Some Hampton Roads lawmakers, instead of running for public office, are now running away<\/a> from the public.<\/p>\n

The Washington Post says<\/a> the radical Republicans are shirking.<\/p>\n

The Roanoke Times says<\/a> the \u201cradical Republicans\u201d interim budget idea is \u201cterrible.\u201d <\/p>\n

The Staunton News Leader calls<\/a> them \u201cideologues\u201d and says there\u2019s \u201cno nice way to put this.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Virginian Pilot takes on <\/a>No Child Left Behind.<\/p>\n

Get this<\/a>: Two first-time supervisors in Frederick County voted against increasing property taxes. One said, \u201cHe still is learning the budget,\u201d and the other said, \u201cHe had not analyzed the budget enough to find precise places to cut.\u201d Blessed are the ignorant for they shall be elected. <\/p>\n
