{"id":1085,"date":"2004-10-01T16:19:02","date_gmt":"2004-10-01T20:19:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/000af36.netsolhost.com\/wordpress1\/2004\/10\/01\/were_persuadabl\/"},"modified":"2004-10-01T16:19:02","modified_gmt":"2004-10-01T20:19:02","slug":"were_persuadabl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/griendling.com\/wordpress1\/2004\/10\/01\/were_persuadabl\/","title":{"rendered":"Were \u201cPersuadables\u201d Persuaded?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/story.news.yahoo.com\/news?tmpl=story&#038;cid=536&#038;e=4&#038;u=\/ap\/20041001\/ap_on_el_pr\/persuadable_voters\">AP is reporting<\/a> that Kerry&#8217;s debate performance might have moved the needle.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Businesswoman Marilyn Morrison of San Marcos, Calif., leans toward Bush, but after the 57-year-old Republican watched the debate, she turned to her Democratic husband and said, &#8220;If Kerry won, I could live with it.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Morrison, who voted for Bush in 2000, says she never would have said that before watching the presidential debate, which focused on foreign policy. <\/p>\n<p>Persuadable voters tended to credit Kerry with doing a better job in the debate. CBS News interviewed a nationally representative sample of 200 persuadable \u2014 or uncommitted \u2014 voters on Thursday night. Those voters said Kerry did a better job in the debate by 43 percent to 28 percent, with the remainder saying it was a tie. <\/p>\n<p>More than half, 53 percent, said they had a more favorable view of Kerry after the debate&#8230;.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Now here\u2019s the kicker: \u201c\u202622 percent said their view of Bush improved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wonder what they must have thought of the guy beforehand?
